Fridges again.
(Preview)
I note that quite a few Nomads are using domestic refrigerators. A point that is never brought up is that these fridges pull the heat out of the inside of the fridge and dump it into the room its in. Caravan fridges duct the heat away out side. This means that on a hot day the fridge is busy cooling its inter...

Bar Fridge in a Caravan

This is my personal experience in using a bar fridge in a caravan. It was a new fridge in 2007 when purchased & cost $80. It had to run off a Honda EM500U generator (450Watt) as well as a 300watt Modified sinewave inverter. As purchased it wouldn't run on either powersupply as the start current was to...

Fridge advise needed yet again

I'm after a bit of advice please. We have a 17" caravan with a 80w solar panel and one 120amp deep cycle GM battery. I am thinking about replacing the old, not working 90L Electrulux 3way fridge with a Weaco CR-1110 2 way (110ltr). To do this I am thinking of adding either 2 X 80w panels or one 120w pane...

Fridges (again)
(Preview)
Does any one have any idea if its possible to rip a 240 volt compressor out of a fridge and replace it with a 12 volt one? Surely both 240 and 12 volt compressors work on the same principle and the idea should be feasible, hopefully winding up with a half decent R.V. fridge. Gemmybob.
