We have a new Trumo E2400 gas heater to instal in our Jayco Starcraft - can anyone advise if it is ok to instal the heater under the double bed and next to the dual batteries?
One of the requirements when fitting the E2400 is it is restricted for position by the Length of the Inlet/Exhaust hoses which is 70cms -100cms max depending on the height of the Inlet/Exhaust in relation to the position of the unit itself.
There are also restrictions with the Exhaust proximity to a window opening so it pays to find out about the Fitting Instructions before purchasing.
Search Google and you will find a PDF on Fitting Instructions. I fitted our own and had it checked out by a Certified Gas Fitter all OK. We wouldn't be without it especially as we like touring the Southern States including 15 mths in Tassie 12/2011-3/2013 in the cooler months.
At the moment in Vic heading slowly criss - crossing the Sth West towards SA, Yorke Peninsula, possibly Eyre again then Nullarbor to WA, so the Heater is necessary for this time of year.
The Heater has done plenty of hours of work in the last 3 years and worked great.
Thanks for the responses. We just had our Truma E2400 gas heater and air vents installed under our double bed, and our gas lines upgraded, and plumbing under the van upgraded, in Bendigo, by Cameron Williams, a Licensed Plumber and Gas Fitter - phone 0458 845 210 - very professional, exceptionally neat work and very reasonable charges. Cannot recommend Cameron too highly for anyone wanting quality plumbing and gas fitting for their van, in the Bendigo area. All work done on site.
Thanks for the responses. We had the exhaust hose and vent installed through the front tunnel and positioned against the tunnel door on the services side of the van, 550mm from the window. The unit came with one fresh air vent and the vent for the hot air. We purchased two fresh air vents and had them installed to provide a fresh air cross flow. The unit is very efficient and quiet.
