A heads-up for anyone planning to stay at a CP in Mt Isa. Thieves are targeting them and I was a victim over the weekend after I was away from the bus for 45 minutes. Surprisingly, and very thankfully, the only things taken were my el-cheapo pre-paid phone I had just as a backup and an old iPhone 4 with an app...

Gday... We are all aware that the modern trend is to force the fitment of greywater tanks to vans as a result of the crowding that occurs at many rest stops used as camping spots, particularly when the surface at those rest areas is 'hard stand'. Due to the crowding by travellers at unsuitable (for campi...

I'm sure someone has already scoped this out before. Are there any vans (not caravan) which will fit a full size bed widthways rather than lengthways? On Redbook the Transit seem to be the widest but the measurement includes the mirrors. Internally, they weren't as wide as I was hoping.

Important information for all Collingwood supporters going to the game next sat; dole payments will be available as cash advances outside gates 4,7 and 8. A temporary parole office will be set up near gate 3. An amnesty will be available for stolen vehicles that can be left in the carpark after the...

Wombat (ex GN) has asked me to pass on that Sue & Phil (Sufil on GN) went to their son's wedding yesterday, Sue is still in hospital but was granted ward leave to attend with Phil. Sue's short term memory loss and eyesight still not the best and she is still an inpatient. FYI. Vic

Been so thankful for recent help on this forum, especially the warnings on drop bears, I'll be sure to wear my pith helmet. Advice so far: Do 3 month laps because overlapping eVisitor Subclass 651 visas are the easiest to obtain, and the wife will tell me to go wank a wombat after 3 months in the bush if I t...

OK I have 2x 120 AH house batteries in the caravan being charged - only by 450 watts of panels, flat mounted. When running short of power, and I should say here, we have a few electronic devices including TV and vast, as well as a 12v compressor fridge. I have the ute set up with a DC-DC charger from the motor...

Hi, We have been looking for a van to buy & have found that most of the ones that fit our budget possess a "Queen Size" bed that is much narrower than a regular one, so my questions are:- Has anyone "ripped out" the wardrobes and built in a full queen- size bed? Is it a DIY project? What lurks behind that I...

Appreciate some advice . Oil pressure too high in a 454 EFI Chevy big block. 50 to 80 on the gauge and the testing unit. . Chevy's do have a reputation of running high temps. The previous oil pressure sensor only lasted for two years, replaced it again after it blew out the centre, and the oil pouring out , i...

I was late in adding this to another posting recently & was thinking that it may have moved on before being seen by the general membership. I have a warped sense of humour & it seemed one of the characters (Phil) did too! On the first view it appeared there "really" was a hole in the railway br...

Title of the thread says it all with the possible exception of saying they'll be supplying a lithium setup. I've always considered Solar4RV to be the recommended supplier but i'm seeing numerous options on evilBay for 'around' the $1 per watt (roughly) price tag. I don't want attached controllers i...
