Travel insurance, overseas??????

We are traveling to the US in July, having difficulty arranging personal insurance, without going into detail we both have pre - existing health conditions.

Suggestions re insurance companies others have used would be of value.smile

Have always been able to get a good rate from Flight Centre by taking in a copy of my best available quote from the internet, this is despite having a list of pre-existing conditions as long as your arm.

We have used a company called 1cover.com.au , as have friends and other family members we both had pre existing conditions, one which they covered at no extra cost the other we had to pay an extra fee for cover. Whilst travelling I sustained an Injury that ended up costing $2000 for which I submitted a claim and the money was in my account before I got home. Their rates are very competative and their cover is extensive we will certainly use them in future. Hope you have a terrific holiday.

If you have a credit card from the major banks most of them have insurance if you pay for the fares with your card. My wife is going to Europe and is covered by Westpac Mastercard. Worth checking

I have found Seniors Travel Insurance to be less stringent than most others, have a look at their pre-existing list online.

Santa, we have used RAA Travel Insurance a number of times, had no problems with a small claim when we were delayed due to the ash cloud to the N/W of Oz. To me not the cheapest but you could use their quote for comparison purposes. We are members of RAA (not that I think that gave us any additional discount).

Some credit/charge cards (particularly the high end ones) offer travel insurance if you buy tickets with the card? Naturally, read the T&Cs carefully but because the insurance is automatic they don't ask about previous health conditions.

I repeat: read the T&Cs carefully.

We Go O\S most yrs for a while.

RACQ Ins does us. for everything.
Cyclones. Luggage damage. Travel ins.
Never a query. Just pay out.

Last trip but one, was a bummer. 2 1\2 months I rather
(Mostly)forget.

Insurance pay out on it, was near 8 grand.
They just paid. (Just show rec't's.)

NOT the cheapest, but as they say.
"Something about getting what you pay for?."

I'm in the same as many with pre-existing issues, Yep  credit card insurance is fine if you don't have any pre-existing conditions.  We always had credit cards that had Travel insurance for the last 20 years now I've got pre-existing  illness outside of their perimeters they won't cover me, please,  what ever you do please phone them first, I too am looking for long term travel insurance as I want to travel for an extended period ( 4 months) if anyone has a suggestion from an insurance company that pays it'd be greatly appreciated
