Hello GN friends. At last we are about to take off for a few months, firstly up the Stuart Highway to explore the Kimberleys and home via WA and the Nullarbor. I have asked about a section of road in the "Road Conditions" forum but not sure if everyone reads this (I don't ), so I'm repeating my question here...

We picked up the caravan on the 9 Dec 2015 and set out for a shakeout trip through Central Victoria. The caravan was made by Van Cruiser at Carrum Downs, near Frankston. The model is known as Interceptor which is just under 19 feet and was somewhat customised to suit our needs. All in all we were happy wit...

Hi All Should the tow ball be a tight fit in the female receiver or should it be able to move. The vertical movement can be reduced or eliminated via the bolt in the tongue, but does nothing to prevent sideways movement. I ask as my Pajero Sport has quite a lot of lateral movement. Thanks Ally

Hi Guys Went to service my roller rocker suspension this morning and noticed that the grease nipples that feed the actual rollers at both ends would not accept grease. I removed the nipples and they worked fine. Do these rollers seize up and if so what do I need to do. Any help would be greatly appreciate...

Am in the process of getting a new tow vehicle and am wondering if it's better to get a tray fitted and then the canopy on top of that or to get the canopy with the floor fitted? If I get a canopy with the floor fitted what happens to the original tray body? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

G'day All, on a recent trip we were camping at the Police Paddocks in Rutherglen, Vic and at 2am all hell broke loose. Thunder and lightning seemed to be all around us and very, very violent. Then came the rain it was like someone with a hammer beating on the roof. We have experienced these storms in the pa...

Hi, We're Brits but are picking up a new motorhome in Queensland in September. The dealer selling us vehicle will register it in our names but to his address. I believe that the rego has to be renewed every year. Is it just a matter of paying for it yearly or do you also receive updated paper work. I supp...

We bought our caravan a year ago when it was just a year old. It is a robust comfortable 25 foot off-road van custom-built by Designer Vans, and whilst we're both a couple of years off retirement we are currently doing plenty of short trips in it, sometimes with the whole family (five of us plus our Aussie...

Staying for a few days at Aysons Reserve near Elmore in central Victoria (just down the road from Greens Lake). Saw a sign on the amenities block saying that a permit is required to camp there. My 4 x 21W basic filament van brake lights worked behind my BF Falcon. However they flash on and immediately go off on my new Ranger. After several days of testing by a tow bar fitter, a Ford dealer & myself, it appears that the Ranger has an overload protection switch on the tow wiring. It's looking l...

Comments welcome on this: Went by train last week to Kalgoorlie, hired a car to drive to Leonora (about 240km) and back. On the way, an overtaking truck/trailer combo tossed up a stone which cracked the windscreen.. Luckily the glass held for the rest of the trip. I regarded this as an accident, not my f...
