Story in today's Daily Mail regarding drivers of so called heavy vehicles being fined in South Australia. One in particular was a Ford F-350. Apparently, some larger utes are classified as 'heavy' vehicles by SA authorities with the same speed restrictions as say, a B double! I drive a Ford Ranger...

Hi all, I am about to try a gas saving trick with my Dometic 3 way fridge. I want to turn the gas off through the day and run my 3000 w inverter to power the the fridge on AC.
Then at night go back to gas.
Has anyone had any success with this technique?

I am thinking of fitting two ball valves, one on the outlet of each tank to the12v pump, but ac...

I currently use gregorys touring atlas of Australia, paper maps, camps 9, & wikicamps for my travels. Is there an app available that is simply maps of Australia with a good zoom ability. I am looking for a replacement for paper maps. The apps I've looked at have symbols for camps, dump points, et...

The topic came up on another thread in the solar section and rather than drag that topic (AGM battery advice) in a different direction, I thought I'd start a new topic over here in the techie part. First off, we need to look at how the numbers of Amp hours advertised on the battery case were determined. Th...

It would make a really constructive thread, if we all put in ideas about reducing the weight of our rig, rather than going on about what we should have done. We need persons to contribute and ask, rather than feel bullied by some who just what to prove how knowledgeable they are to each other. So what abou...
