Bifacial Modules Solar Panels

A few years ago there was a claim about Nanotech Engineering's novel graphene-enhanced solar panel, which was supposed to give 92% efficiency, compared to around 20% efficiency for a normal solar panel.
It appears to me, that the people involved are now being looked at for security fraud, in America, as it appears it was a scam

My question is, (I am not a techie), does anyone know of a solar panel with Bifacial Solar Modules , are they the next generation solar panels, or does this look like another scam

Quote from a website
A bifacial module can produce 27% greater electricity than a standard module on a fixed rack and that a standard module on a tracker might produce 14.5% less than a tracker plus bifacial.

Hi Tony smile

Interesting but not the massive breakthrough that the scammers promised. It sounds like the technology is mostly beneficial at high latitudes and even with snow behind them ???? But only 15-20% improvements which seems to be the extra expected cost anyway.  Not in our lifetime.biggrin

Certainly not for caravans which can get that improvement by an extra panel. hmm

 Thanks for your input, on these panels, Jaahn

Now that I have learned a bit more about them, (if of course assuming that what I read on the websites, was actually true)
The panels appear to let the sunlight through, so definitely not for my motorhome roof, as if/when I add more panels, I will be expecting them to also add shade

 Hi Tony smile

Actually they do not let the light through. They receive the light from the back by reflection from the surroundings or the roof or the ground etc. Still not much good on the motorhome. Seems like snow on the ground works well ??? Not this summer !

Bifacial = two faces.

 Thanks for that info Jaahn

The reason I asked on the forum, was that some websites were giving conflicting information

I either read or interpreted, that they would be good in a farmers field on poles, as this would allow light to filter through, so that grass could grow, and stock could live underneath them

I now assume that if they are a breakthrough, then they will come onto the market, otherwise they will fade into the past
