Just stayed at Lake Benaree which is east of Mildura on the Sturt Highway Camps 6 No 874 NSW Great spot. Overlooks the lake. Plenty of room for big rigs and a 'flushing' toilet! Enjoyed 3 nights there. No fee.

Not sure if this comes under 'budget' - but as a cheaper alternative to the caravan parks in Broken Hill I'll put it in. It's in Camps 6 NSW 1074. It's now $25 a night powered or $22 without. Only toilets, no showers. Depends what events are on as to where you can park. Have to ring caretaker before parking....

We recently spent a couple of nights here, its easy to get to from the Newell hway, mostly bitumen road with a short smooth gravel section. Campsites vary in size, are well-spaced and the dunny is cleaner than most. There are fire rings, picnic tables, but no water. Best of all, its FREE!
