None of us have been everywhere in Australia but if all us grey nomads combined our photo's the result would probably cover most of it. This is the spot to try and stump each other as to where a particular scenic photo has been taken. Please include something in the photos submitted that will be an obviou...

For me two places stand out ( more will come to mind, but I'm a senior so I am having a moment) 1 Mataranka, a stunning spot I thought, the springs are usually full of grey nomads immersed in the warm water, the meals at the resaurant were fantastic and the Van Park though a bit on the dusty side was very clean...

Another battery or a "quiet"generator
(

(Preview)
I've got a 240ah lithium battery in my camper trailer, I'm thinking of putting in another 240ah battery and upgrading the solar array from 250 watts to 600 watts. Or purchasing a generator/ inverter (around the $500 to$1000 mark). the generator will be the cheaper option, but my concern is the noise....

Telstra's reduced coverage
(Preview)
Just returned home from four months in the "bush" and I think it pertinent to comment on the seemingly reduced fringe coverage in country areas. I presume this is as a result of the cessation of G3 but do not know if this is so. I have a CelFi amplifier and have made comment elsewhere that we were previo...

Yamba to Dubbo

Hi All, I'm driving from Yamba to Dubbo in a few weeks and would like some advice on the easiest road to take towing a van. It looks like two main routes, through Tamworth on A15, 676 Kms, or is it a better road through Glen Innes on B76 which is 724 Kms? I'm not keen on the Waterfall Way route as that looks ve...

In today's news, it states the ACCC are taking Jayco to court over misleading advertising. The article (and the ACCC web site) states Jayco have shown images in their advertising depicting their "off-road" products on 4wd only roads and undertaking water crossing. More, they have promoted RVs wi...

Replacing solar panels

(Preview)
We have 2 x 120w solarking panels on our poptop, seems like one is now faulty, and of course I that exact size one is not available now. so it looks like I will need to replace both panels, we only use about 25 amps overnight from our 100 amp lithium, so anything from 240 to 300 watts is ample for us (were inWA,...

Where to put a UHF Antenna on Mercedes Sprinter

I've been using a handheld Uniden with a mag mount antenna on the roof for a while. The radio sits on the shelf above the sun visor and I have a handset on a velcro loop next to it.
