Port Lincoln the whole peninsula is fantastic in summer .Best fish I have ever had on the coast down from Wyala thats saying something from an ex Kiwi I tell you the BEST seafood I have had ! No
Bias opinion
Its good !! The food at station stays is fantastic also . Was apprehensive at first to stay o farm
Stays . I regret this now . I found them so friendly and helpful ! That goes for people staying also . Mataranka kept reminding me of the
Movie Cocoon . Fantastic place and the tavern just adds to its greatness .
For me, for a place to be 'Magic' it would have to be somewhere we had completely to ourselves & with no, or minimal ,evidence of human impact. If you add interesting & beautiful surroundings which afford shade for comfort & warm fresh spring water to take a dip in at the doorstep, & a warm climate allowing for skinny dipping (& skinny drying,:) ), & a complete lack of any type of bities (mozzies, sandflies, ants & big lizards) then this place would have to be it for the most magical place we have camped. Running Waters in the East Pilbara, off Skull Springs Road. We have visited many many truly magical places, but this is always the first to come to mind.

I have to say, that is my idea of Heaven right there.
For me one of the most magical places was Lake Bled in Europe in a little country called Slovenia...we also went canyoning Bled and rafting on the River Soca...amazing places I tell you...

How to choose only 2 places in Australia - impossible. But, thought I'd throw it out there - Wave Rock and the eerie graveyard salt bed of trees. It was a random decision to drive out there and we totally loved it.
Another favvie is Waterway Way, the area is so peaceful, chilling at the waterfall, an easy walk and a handful of tourists. Magic
We have been very lucky to have seen many places in Australia over the years. We just love driving the countryside. I loved to be able to free/donation camp and to be able to pull up some place by a river, lake, the ocean, some place for a beautiful sunrise/sunset. Our old motorhome had a great big back window and back it into the right spot and you could see for miles. One place I truly remember doing that was Point Howard Lookout outside Alice Springs. No facilities (2017) but we had the best spot. Another place I always remember was Lake Bringalbert in Victoria. Quite a few years ago too and in the same motorhome. It was a donation camp (box by the toilet) and we were there all by ourselves. Just so peaceful and relaxing. The volunteers had done a wonderful job keeping the area clean and tidy, planted shrubs. It was just nice. Cheers.
PS: I'll add a third. Back in the early 1980's - Camping in our little tent at Ayres Rock at the old camp ground. We were the first car in for days (dirt road then - wet weather) and there was a storm and seeing the water coming off the rock and a bright sunny day followed and we climbed the rock and there was half a dozen of us on the rock and a bloke was flying a kite and he was trying to walk the kite down as he couldn't get it to reel in. Sorry to say it crashed and he lost the kite. Happy memories.
