Kevin I don't remember it being put there, I do remember seeing it looking derelict at Quorn many years ago. I can't understand why it gets no Govt Funding apart from a cursory $ or 2 when it is totally unique much like the Purrey steam tram in rockhampton. Govts will spend millions on "art" but on things they "don't understand" they seem reluctant to cough up, and if they do then they elsblish huge beauracracies to ensure that all the funding is used on feasability studies etc....Look at the fiasco that occured over the ABT railway Queenstown to Strachan.... now THAT IS A TRIP!

Come on Basil, that's 3 guesses. be fair!
It is not Lock Ard and it's not Ormiston (I doubt that there has EVER been that much water in Ormiston!)

Cheers,
Peter

Maybe you should give everyone a hint, like reading thru your trip reports..made me feel dizzy just viewing the picture.
A bloke will need a full spool of line fishing from that spot.

Basil,
Not Ormston Gorge in the West MacDonalds.
Not Lock Ard on the Great Ocean Road.
Not Chamberland Gorge at El Questro in the Kimberley.
All very beautiful though.

Hint: the water is salty, and there are big fish in there Ole Grizzly!

Cheers,
Peter

I tried Googling "Gorges of Western Australia" to get a clue and guess what I found How To Make Some More Bamboo? - CN: Cannabis Community
24 Mar 2004 ... Lantana IS a weed, just look at some of the rainforest areas in the gorges of Western Australia, and you'll see why. ...

Will I get my toes salty if I dip them into the Carson or Drysdale ?
I wouldn't know as I have never been there except in your travel diary..

Not Manning Dave, and not near El Questro. Chamberland Gorge on El Questro is a stunner, but not salt.
At the entrances, you would get some salt, Ole Grizzly, but it is neither of those.
Further north.
The Drysdale is a particularly spectacular River entrance, and the Carson runs into the King Edward River.

Cheers,
Peter

Bingo, Ole Grizzly!
Best gorge in Oz, I reccon.
The falls are at least 80m and are around 20k from the sea.
Big boats go in right up to the falls, but we drove/walked in.
Here is a slide show of the trip for those interested. If you have the bandwidth, click on the pic. There is a control down the bottom to pause etc.

Must be your turn Ole Grizzly, give us a go!

Cheers,
Peter

I did cheat a little to get the right place...but I had lots of fun researching and a list 2 mile long of spots to visit.

Your going to have to wait until my first trip & photos before I can put out the challenge.

ps....I do have some strange looking x-rays that even have a doctor confused.  Will they do ?
