Electricity costs.

Hi all, if you are paying a high price for electricity have a look at GloBird. A smaller progressive company with great plans one of which. includes 4hrs of free electricity between 10 am and 2pm.

Disclaimer.

I have no connection to this company other than being a very satisfied customer.

In 2007 I bought a 3.0kVA MGE (Eaton) UPS including extra battery units so I could run my half dozen dual CPU computers (render farm) for a few hours for 3d rendering. I was sick & tired of the endless blackouts in Sydney which would cause me to start rendering all over again.

The UPS still works, it is a professional set-up, other than the batteries which only last about 5 minutes these days as they are so old.

So, if we get free electricity for a few hours a day. I will replace the batteries, so I will eventually recover my $4,500 in 2007 investment.

Easy stuff as I am all ready to go for household backup power.
