All ok here near Seabird WA - not far from where the fires are at Woodridge - but the wind is driving it towards the coast, and no flareups have been seen for quite a while, hope fully all under control now. We got prepared to leave though!
Thanks for the heads up KJ

We have seen the helitankers come over us a couple of times on their way to or from the Wedge/Grey Fire. It is about 50 kms from us so all is good here. Lot of wind up here today which will be giving the fire a good helping hand and pushing it along nicely. (just what the fireys DONT need!!)
Wedge and Grey are both "shack towns" with great beaches, popular for weekenders and holiday makers but neither have a very big resident population. The Dandy shire only allow them under sufferance so I very much doubt that should the fire look like causing damage in either "town" the council wont be pushing to save them!!
Basically all the land on the western side of IOD from Cervantes to Lancelin is bush (some private but mainly government owned DPAW and Defence Force)on sand dunes so fairly inaccessible even with 4wd so we need a really good southerly wind to turn the fire back on itself.
.

BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR:
The bushfire is moving fast in a south westerly direction.
It is out of control and unpredictable.
Burning embers are likely to be blown around your home. Spot fires are starting ahead of the fire.
Flames are four metres high.
SAFEST ROUTE:
Use Coolup Road East to leave via South Western Highway.
If you live east of the bridge on Coolup Road East use Burnside Road and Pinjarra Williams Road to leave in a westerly direction.
ROAD CLOSURES:
Pinjarra-Williams Road is closed between Burnside and Scarp Road.
Avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site
