i just had my rig put over the weigh bridge whilst away on a road trip. When it came to toe ball mass the operator did not want me to unhitch. Instead he had me raise the jockey wheel so high it was lifting the back of the car quite considerably. Surely this must give a false TBM reading. As a result I am a littl...

The plastic toilet bowl in the van has stained/tarnished over time. Tried all sorts to clean it, including the internet favourite, tooth paste. Nothing has worked to any great degree till I tried one of the sodium percarbonate products, in this case, the Aldi Di San Oxy 32.5%. With a bit of elbow greas...

Just had a great weekend away in my piece of crap (my opinion) Retreat caravan where several other things fell apart. Getting used to this so no big deal but certainly wish I had bought a cheaper brand! The weekend was some what tarnished by the very sore back I developed after the weekend and I suspect t...

Best diet to lose weight and get your diabetes Type 2 (and possibly Type 1) under some sort of control is to go for a No Carbs Diet: I eat cooked sliced Beef from my Deli and leafy greens, Brussels Sprouts and Mushrooms, I drink water laced with Sugar Free Cordial to taste and I don't drink alcohol or smoke....

Hi all, A mate has just told me about this little device called MT Tracker BBQ. Sits under the gas bottle via magnets and transmits accurate info on gas levels via an app to your phone.. Go to BOC Gases site for more info and download. App is a separate download. -- Edited by Magnarc on Saturday 7th of March...

just waiting for the new next gen to be built

I find one of the real joys of caravan life is waking up early in a tranquil place and listening to the birds getting warmed up for the day. Camped a distance away from me is the leading authority on everything. As the birds start, so does he. He has a voice like a foghorn and barely pauses for breath. Fort...

Lovely Italian story...............be careful what you say.

Recently got caught in hailstorm. There is only a small amount of visable damage (in fact you have to look really hard to see it.) Mostly on the roof that is three meters high (motorhome) The assessor was intent on saying how expensive it would be to fix it. Have to remove a lot of the interior lining...

Possum has been quiet, but why do you view a particular joke? the person who posts, the title, just bored so have a look. eg Broken brickie rates high. Commonsense also. A few good ones hardly rate a view

Hi everyone, with the greater awareness nowadays of not exceeding caravan payloads/GTMs I was after some idea of how much load (on average) a couple would need to carry in their vans say for a few months on the road. I know this could be a "how long is a piece of string" question but I would appreciate feed...

Just asking! Back drop to question..... My Dad worked and lived in the outback of South Australia from the time I was born until I was 16, he came home rarely, but always did with stories of his time in the outback His wish, when he died, was to have his ashes given to the guard on the Ghan and scattered at Old...

A chemistry professor posted a bonus question on an exam. Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wro...

As a man is leaving his house for work his wife shouts out "Don't forget to buy a bag of snails on your way home, my parents are coming for dinner remember". The man agrees and rushes off to work, where he has a terrible, stressful day. Sure enough, when he gets home he's forgotten the bag of snails. "I can't...

Yep, I handed in my Ned Kelly Armour and due to a terrible weather forecast for the next three days did a runner and left Kelly Country. I was leaving tomorrow, Wednesday anyway. Where am I then, I hear you ask? Well, I am now back on the farm in Young for farm sitting duties and then, well, time will tell. I...

Hello.... New to the group and still learning the art of caravanning! Wanted to see what peoples thoughts were on electrical surge protection for use in caravan parks. We have an older van (1975 Millard) and no inbuilt surge protection. Thinking the $90 investment in the Amphibian Surge device is a...
