Left Lagoons Beach early and made Bicheno the first stop, water was needed and groceries from IGA. Had a look at the blowhole but the sea was calm and had only small blows. Lovely area around the blowhole with rocks similar to the Bay of Fires with their red tones. All up a short trip of no more than 70kms. H...

Not spectacular as some but almost every twist and turn brings the ocean into stunning view. Scamander is a fine example of a small seaside...

Nice campsite on the river. Go through Sofala and travel about 6 klms. There is a composting toilet. Best to take your drinking water. Can swim in the river. Take the third entrance to the camp site as the first two are pretty steep. Suitable for fairly large rigs (ie motor home towing a vehicle)....

It seems absolutely ages since I was able to log onto the forum. I have felt like I've been missing my 'family' of friends even though I had my blood family with me. We have done the Christmas trek - 9 hours north and 9 hours back again and then we were invaded by the family who all love being together 'at our h...

Hi all we are travelling to Tasmania in January 2013 and read that fuel containers need to be empty of fuel and filled with water. So this poses a couple of questions... Can you refill the containers unleaded and diesel with fuel again? and what to do about generators. Maybe easier to buy new containers...

It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all beenable to walk on water on their 18th birthday. On that special day, they'd each walked across the lake to the pub on th...
