Just food for thought. We have come across three parks in recent weeks that have a sign in the laundry stating that washing machines in vans are banned!! is this just revenue raising or not, we do not like using public washing machines in parks, especially when you see some of the people using them. I am a...

We are currently looking for a van to head off for a minimum of 12 months - leaning towards dual axle but want an off road van to give us the option of going bush (which we love). Many vans state they are semi off road - if anyone has one, can you advise what restrictions there are, some of the places you have b...

The CWA are advertising one here for next Tuesday. I went to a Cent Sale once in Bundy, years ago now. I'm presuming its something similiar. These must all be Qld events as never heard of them before in Vic or anywhere else. I will go along to see what its all about but wondered before I get there.

I went to pick up the house battery I had ordered for Myrtle today. A Delkor Deep Cycle was what I ordered. When I got there I found it was only 80 ah, I had said I wanted at least 105 up to 120. He said Well to get one that big would cost you heck of a lot more, the battery would be a lot bigger and a lot heavier. I can...

Moved from Nyah to Lake Benanee - will probably stay one night - all dirt camping areas but great lake views. A few trees, clean loo, concrete tables/chairs, info board. Quite a few have vans here now. If you had 4x4 van could probably go down to the next level beside the lake - looks a bit sandy for me.

In my way of thinking, the invention of paper tissues with it's many uses is one of the greatest inventions ever. Interesting that the Japanese had been using similar tissue for centuries beforehand, also that the US Kleenex tissue was an offshoot from Kotex products. See these links on tissues; htt...

well Did you know this about bats? The newsletter from Gardening Australia said: Put up a bat house to encourage the presence of these shy animals. Bats consume 3,000 or more mosquitoes and other insects nightly, and bats are less likely to be rabid than dogs are. Need another reason? Bats are respon...

In regards to using portable electric hotplates, which is best, the normal type hotplate or the induction one? You pay a lot more for the induction one but is it worth it? PS: I also have a gas cannister stove for use when not on power, but am not comparing with that.
