Some friends of ours stayed there some weeks back. They thought that it was a great spot - right on the river and reasonably priced. We haven't stayed there so we can only give you second hand info.

Croki is just up the road from where I am in Taree. I've photographed it and wandered around but never stayed there. Looks nice though, and very peaceful. There's a swimming pool in the river nearby and bbq facilities.

It's a lovely place stayed there a couple of years ago and it was in the process of being shut down and subdivided but luckily it evidently didn't happen, you can buy fresh oysters from the farm within walking distance.

in case the town is actually mispelt and should have been Coraki near Woodburn on the Richmond River ... for your info either way regarding Coraki

Not sure if this is still current, but as someone who lives close to Coraki (around 20klms away) and also worked with someone who lives there, i would advise caution, dont leave anything unaccompanied. The town is a well known place for youth problems and police are called to Coraki to resolve issues there regularly. The town features regularly  in  the local media and not for the right reasons.

yes, it is a nice spot on the river, but do take care and secure your van and beLongings. If you wish specifics, please PM me.

Chaslib

Post script. Have just googled Croki and know there is a place, so above post may or may not apply ...... Regardless, the above info may be worth keeping in mind.

Hi Libby and charlie
Its Croki near Taree and it looks ok so will see when we get there, will look first before we book in,
As for Coraki , we looked at it a few months ago when we were staying at Broadwater near woodburn and we formed the opinoin that it was not all that nice and didnt like the fact that the toilets were up on the road and had heard about the troubles in the town from locals in the park at broadwater so had ruled it out.
thank you for your reply.

BTW, Lyn, there's a winery not far from Croki - Ghinni Winery - a few kms closer to Taree. They specialize in luscious liquers made from all kinds of fruits including chillis! Free tastings too.
