How many 'watts' will a 30amp controller cope with?
(Preview)
Gday... I have a 120Ahr battery fed by two 80watt PV panels through a 30amp controller. Given how I camp, this is quite adequate for my needs. On sunny days, even in Victoria's winter, the battery is back to float (13.4V) by late-morning/early arvo. Even on overcast days I am able to get at least three d...

US Caravan Manufacturers going to LFP

We have written earlier about having a solar autonomous 5h wheel: 11 m long with 1420 W of solar and 9 kW-hrs of LFP. We just returned from 14 weeks in Mexico and realize that we need a small adjunct for our travels. There are a lot of places that we should like to visit in Mexico, Beliz, and Guatemala, as wel...

My needs are very simple, I just want to have a fridge for trips of over 3-4 days max 2 weeks away from mains, I may need to charge a laptop at a later stage. But I dont need power for lights or showers or mic...

2 x 100amp 12v batteries - questions
(Preview)
I have 2 x 100amp batteries in my van - wired + to + and - to - - ie to give 200amp 12v. Q1 - Should the onboard battery charger and the Solar Panel regulator be connected to the one battery or + on one and - on the other? Q2 - Would it be better to have a DC to DC charger between them rather than hard wired? Thanks Gle...

With no 240v connected to the van, but all wiring still on the battery, will it harm anything leaving the little solar charger on all the time? Or should I disco...
