We had a loose wire going into the regulator PLUS I was reading the little meter wrong. I thought it showed me what was going into the battery - NO it is what is coming out of the .!!!!!!!!!! Learnt a lot from a fellow caravanner. He sorted it and my thinking.
Well that's great some times the simplest things need checking too all too often we start looking at the wrong end first
