We are at older sons place in northern New Mexico at 8000. The temperature dropped to 9 F with 10 of snow. We put a 60 W lamp in front bay with the LFP battery suite and it kept the space above 40 F. Son ran an extension cord to fifth wheel after I whined about needing to probably run generator in morning since I...

I have a 160 w folding solar panel and was wondering where and how is the best storage position. It is approx 750 mm x 750 mm and about 15 kg, not something you want flying around the van while you are driving. Is it best to store upright or flat? On the bed or under? or beside with a pillow or similar wedged upr...

Our house has a 1.5kW solar system wired up as a gross feed-in installation. That is, we have 3 meters -- one meter for peak power, a second for off-peak, and a third for solar. The solar output connects to the grid side of the peak and off-peak meters, meaning that we have a gross metering system. However...

I have a Coromal caravan at the workshop with one of these Solarking SD2430S controllers fitted. Looking on the web it suggests they are an MPPT controller, but I can't find the exact part number to get the specs, just Solarking products with similar part numbers. I have found a reference relating to t...

I'm adding two 150 w panels to my roof , there is 3 x 80w panels there already, I upgraded my reg to 100 /50 when the old one gave up the ghost . If I wire them all in parrallel , from my calculations they will be within the parameters of the reg. I was advised to upgrade the 6mm wire to 8mm down to the reg and to the b...

Some of you may remember sometime back that I did a considerable amount of work re-doing our solar system. Replacing the two hose batteries from Gel to AGM, and then, having three 150w panels on the roof began a re hash. Hi All, I finally got around to installing my solar panels on the caravan. I'd always had an idea of how I wanted to do it and got my chance to try it out. Just wondering if anyone has used these in their van? We do have a basic controller coming with our van (standard base offering) which I thought of upgrading. Hi I was at the local tender center this weekend and spotted a good looking portable solar panel.
