Waeco will run on 240v but not 12 v

Sorry if this one has come up before.. I put Waeco in the car with engine running and plugged it in.. wont go Runs as usual off the 240 v lead have checked the fuse in 12 v lead pug and it is good I see on a search that the poly fuse may have gone any ideas fellow GNs ?
