For what it's worth Lakeside Van Park Ballinia has introduced a policy which now allows dogs . BUT! the dog can weigh no more than 5.0 kg.. Did question why selection based on weight rather than one based on the scientifically established behavioral tendencies of dogs . As yet the park management h...

While you dog owners are travelling around just be on the lookout for a dark blue Holden station wagon with W.A. plates. If the driver has long blonde hair and a small white and a large brown dog pick up your dog immediately. Our precious 12 year old toy poodle was murdered viciously by this brown dog in Ka...

Probably not the right place for this but I am sure you all you pet lovers will understand why I put it here. I saw this on another forum....... I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help...

Interesting read on the front page. Can see both points of view. I have the Dog Friendly Book they mention. Found it an absolute waste of time. Nothing in it was up to date and when I stopped at the appropriate CPs always ended up in a heated discussion over what the book said about the park and what they did...

We are keen to get to Kangaroo Island, and I see they are dog friendly. Now, I have experienced dog friendly in lots of shapes and sizes, and some times "dog friendly"is down right dog unfriendly. Has anyone any first hand experience of KI with their dogs?

Hi, I'm new to Grey Nomads. My husband still works full-time, but I only work part-time now. When hubby and I retire in a few years, we would like to do the biggie around Australia with our caravan. We have made a few 2 - 8 week forays, and love the lifestyle. Now ideally, when we retire, I would love to ha...

Hello people I will be heading to Alice Springs mid to late June from Goulburn via Mildura to Alice with my dogs. I would appreciate suggestions of where to camp along the way. I am planning on only covering about 400km to 450km per day as I will be on my own so don't have a relief driver. After Alice I will...

Hello my name is sue, and i would like to get the law changed on dogs in state and national parks, and i would like to know if there is anyone out there that wants to come on board? I am willing to take this all the way to Canberra, i feel that camp fires are more of a threat to our wildlife than our dogs on a leash!...

We are about to purchase a 5th wheeler and take off. Our little boy Winston (a Maltese male dog) will be with us. At home he's used to using a doggie-door at night when he wants to go outside, so we're wondering if any of you have a similar situation with your small dog and have any ideas as to how to set up a ni...

OK, here's a hard one. How do you go about finding some daycare for your much loved pet while travelling and you want to spend a few hours somewhere that you can't take your dog into?? There must be an easy way to go about it in each town. My thought would be the Information Centre for starters. Any ideas. Ed...
