Found myself a new friend.

My new mate Punky whom I am adopting from the Animal Rescue, pick her up Friday. She's 12 weeks old and really tiny.

I lost my best friend Mindy nearly 2 years ago at the age of 17 years. Mindy was a foxy, Punky is a wiry terrier so although they are the same colourings look really different.

Can imagine Punky skitting up beside me as I travel the highways.

aww thats cute..
just make sure you have a harnes on her when in the car, thats what i was always told and apperntly the law in nsw.. I hate seing dogs up on the front seat, nothing personal but wouldnt be any fun for it or you if something went wrong,
i always had a harnes on ben when we travelled in the car or motor home..
hope it all works out for you, what are they like ? ie personalites etc

Yep milo. Travelled with Mindy up and down the East Coast for years. She always had a special bed made up on the back seat for night stop overs and travelled sleeping until I came to a set of lights when she would sit up to see why we stopped.
Will start Punky off young so she knows she has to wear a harness.

She's just sooo cute Marj. smile

I'd love to have a little dog too, but I'm being sensible, I really can't afford one.

Also, they're not allowed in National Parks, and that's too resticting for me.

My dog Maggie rides in the back of the BT50 spacecab all the time.  She puts her head down as soon as I get to the front gate. She can be fast asleep but the moment I put the blinker on, or slow down/stop, the head comes up to see 'if we are there yet'.
The other thing she loves is Maccas, if she sees the big M, I get hit on the arm as she 'asks' for a junior burger!!   (she only has one - no onions or pickle - very rarely, they are too fattening for dogs)

Romy, I don't have Punky anymore. She went to a new home before I headed off up north. I know shes happy and has a big yard and big house to run around in.

Thanks for replying Happy Wanderer. Ohhh, did you miss Punky at first? I'm sure she would have been great company for you while travelling.

Iwould love another dog, but hubby is not keen as he wants to travel around Oz when we retire in a few years time. I'm still working on him though!
