I have a Suburban water heater which work great on 240 V but on Gas it stops after about 5 seconds, keeps trying to start but stops almost all the time. Any clues on what the fault may be.???

We are planning a trip to lake EIldon soon before the busy time,for fishing and camping.Any suggestions for a camping spot near a boat ramp, we don't mind free camping, but a lot of the sites being a national park don't allow generators.greatly appreciate any info
