Life Was Ment To Be Easy If You Have The Ability To Adapt
From experience, from using cheaper hearing aids, the hearing aid will amplify ALL noise Having the volume down as low as possible will decrease the background noise
Hope this info helps you out until someone with your brand of hearing aid, comes forward with their information
The batteries you received would have normally been type 13 Alkaline (11.6 diameter 5.4 thick) 1.5 volt You can expect them to last about two weeks duration
I use Zinc Air (type 675) batteries they are the same dimensions as the Alkaline type 13, but are only 1.45 volt When the sticky tab is removed from the back of the battery, the air goes through some very small holes, and mixes with the zinc, to activate the battery You can not stop the activation by replacing the sticky tab, Zinc Air usually last me about 3 weeks
I purchase mine from this Australian mob through eBay, this is their home website which is slightly cheaper than their eBay price They sell all type and sizes of hearing aid batteries
The type AG13 Alkaline battery which is what the lower price hearing aid sellers normally give us(1.5 volt, 11.6 dia, 5.4 width) start off at 1.5 volt, but will quickly run down lower than that voltage, they have a capacity of about 200 mAh
Do not get confused with the ZA13 battery, which is a Zinc Air of (7.9 dia, 5.4 width), which will not fit
The type A675 Zinc Air battery (1.45 volt, 11.6 dia, 5.4 width) will stay longer at its voltage, as it has a capacity of around 600 mAh
In my opinion, for my type of hearing loss, the Zinc Air is better than the Alkaline, although it is as you say 0.05 lower voltage
As you are (like I was), beginning to experiment then perhaps you could buy one packet (6 batteries) of both AG13 Alkaline and A675 Zinc Air batteries, to find which is best for you
A very small expense as compared to the price of tailor made hearing aids
Note that expensive tailor made hearing aids come with Zinc Air, and not Alkaline batteries
Hope this info is helpful to you, and that you let us all know in the future, how it all went
