Genset battery expensive!!!
(Preview)
The battery in my genset is only 51mm wide, where most are around 65mm. A "specially made" battery for $55!! This battery is L 150mm, W 51mm, and H 93 or 107 to top of terminals. Thinking about how to get around this with maybe a cheap Lithium jump starter. Might burn the place down though. Thoughts? Aus...

Great service In Werribee [Vic]
(Preview)
If you need tyre or car service I can recommend JBR Auto 1/21 Lock Ave, Werribee. I needed a good secondhand tyre and from the phone call until I drove out of the business, I was treated with every courtesy. In this day and age it is great that some businesses put the customer first.

Blow out
(Preview)
i had the unfortunate pleasure although pleasure probably not right of having a rear tyre on my motor home explode at 100 kph. Luckily I was able to pull it up without any further dramas. The tyre managed to damage some of the bodywork as you can see from the photo.

Thoughts on how freecampers are impacting wildlife and homes for wildlife.
(Preview)
I've noticed there is quite a bit of tree felling going on around free camp sites, mainly because firewood is becoming scarce. Grey nomads may not be the main cause but I think grey nomads could be doing something to look after the places they enjoy. Some of these places are very special, trees take many...

Have changed our signature - our faithful friend has gone
(Preview)
Have just posted the following in Travelling with Pets. Our loved female Corgi passed away on 5th November. She was a gentle, friendly, wise and peaceful dog, who I am sure could tell time. A seasoned traveller she (and we) enjoyed many travels together. She is being and will continue to be missed.

Free camping and the law!
(

(Preview)
Why do I constantly get the impression that many nomads are constantly working on ways to outwit local council regulations regarding free camping? Seems people play all sorts of games to extend the duration of stay, camp/hide in prohibited area's, or simply dodge paying a few bucks after having the...
