Why use an "R" clip on the hitch.
(Preview)
I have heard of people using an "R" clip on their hitch. Found one on the road the other month, and have been using it on the padlock point on the hitch, but don't really see the reason for it. Maybe it will deter someone from tampering with the hitch handle, otherwise I see it as unnecessary. The hitch alre...

Paint peeling off checker plate panels
(Preview)
I wonder how many on this forum have a problem with the paint peeling off the checker plate panels on their vans. I was advised last week that there are 1600 outstanding claims against the insurance company who at this stage are refusing to address the problem and it could be years before anything is don...

I tried many times, but the link would not work for me, so I will try here. Firstly, good onya Tony. It appears you built both from the ground up yourself. that is not an...

we live in NSW and will be travelling to Western Aust for 8 to 9 months. Whilst in WA both the tug and van need to be registered, which requires a mechanical inspection certificate. Can I just get the inspection done in WA or how should I handle this ? The renewal & CTP I can do online.

Pajero towing capability
(Preview)
Hi. I currently tow my 17.55, twin axle Jayco Journey with a MY15 Triton. Besides having to beef up my rear suspension, the Triton does well and we deal with the offroad stuff by leaving the van in a park and venturing off road with our Oztent. To maximise our experience, we need to replace the Journey wit...

Heavy(?) Vehicles in SA.

Story in today's Daily Mail regarding drivers of so called heavy vehicles being fined in South Australia. One in particular was a Ford F-350. It would make a really constructive thread, if we all put in ideas about reducing the weight of our rig, rather than going on about what we should have done. We need persons to contribute and ask, rather than feel bullied by some who just what to prove how knowledgeable they are to each other. So what abou...
