UHF Brands
(Preview)
Just interested to hear from those that have a UHF, what brand it is and why you chose it. We have two Oricom handhelds which we chose because of the deal on offer and theyve been great and we have a car mounted Uniden which we chose because just about everyone we knew had Uniden and its been excellent.

A bit of drama for me, today. The van somehow parted company with the Commodore and slid up an embankment into a wire fence. The hitch had been in the locked position on the towball. It was checked before leaving the campsite at Narrandera and again 5 mins later at the service station, so no idea how it cam...

Jayco Silverline roof insulation.
(Preview)
I was told by a Jayco Sales person, that these vans, the earlier model, did not have an insulated roof, that they had to squirt foam into the wiring runs to stop the looms rattling. Does anybody know if this is correct ?, a bit of a poor show if it is. Apparently the new models now on sale have insulated roofs...

Solution for ants in van.

Had an ant problem in the van for a couple of weeks. Could see no entry or exit point, just had ants popping up every time I turned around. Tried all sorts of baits, nothing worked, or even slowed them down. One day that was hot we left a damp sponge on the sink and went out for the day. When we came back, moved t...

Jocky wheel and bottle jack?

Winding the jockey wheel up on my caravan is hard work! Very hard work. So, the engineer in me thought: how about using a bottle jack to progressively lift the A frame and when the jack runs out of lift dropping the jockey wheel putting a wood block under the jack and repeating the process. My theory is tha...
