Five more sleeps and we are off again,, up to Bowen, out to Mt Isa, down to Longreach, Charlieville, then Chinchilla, and finally home to the Sunny coast,,,,all in four weeks, we are excited to be back on the road, and looking forward to meeting lots of nomads out there.... Just found out about this site via a friend downunder. Grey Nomads Huh! We are in that brigade. More power too us. We are a couple of Scots. Flying to Perth WA and should be there by the end of Feb 2012. Plan to drive to Darwin via the coast road. Would love to hear from other nomadic followers of itineraries...

I'm currently in Bowen and heading to Cairns and Port Douglas within the next week or so, I was hoping to be there for a couple of months but at around $45 a night in most of the parks its just out of the question. There seems to be so many people that I've met on the way that are heading up there for 3-6 months...

Well I'm all packed. 100 litres of cheap fuel. Heaps and heaps of good food. When I'm camping I like to be a bit of a p1ss pot so I've got plenty of wine and grog. 100 kilos of good red gum fire wood to keep warm. Leaving at 5am. Lake eyre here I come.

I don,t know if anybodys interested, but heres a pic of a Gold spot cod we landed , and released, from a wreck 300m off the beach at H,shoe bay.It was 1.1m long and over 20kgs.Too big, and too nice, to kill.
