Hi, my name is Graeeme, Im 71 yo and In about a month. and after a minor op Ill have the funds to buy a pop top and start 4/6 week journeys from my home in central Victoria, return home for medical checks then off again on the next trip. I have a Holden commodore v6 and think probably a 12 ft or expanda type pop top is the way to go. Theres only myself and a small dog. Hobbies are freshwater and ocean fishing and photography so Ill start planning around those interests and see what happens.
Ive registered as a volunteer at the National Folk Festival in Canberra at Easter, free camping accom, discount meals, free entrance to all artists in exchange for 4 hours volunteering a day. I think Ill start my journey there and just go where my nose tells me to after the festival is over. Any advice would be really appreciated I am literally starting from scratch and about to buy/setup everything. additionally does anyone have comments/advice on an expanda type van, I wonder about the canvas at the end.

G'day Graeeme and welcome to the forum. Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit. Sounds like a great plan - remember that WA (should you get that far!) requires a licence for freshwater fishing but not for salt - I'm sure many other states will have similar rules
