Don't be ripped off

Hi all, just a warning to those that my need to buy things at Repco in Canarvon. I bought a 150 W inverter that I had trouble with $187 (since had problem fixed) went to Repco in Canarvon who had a 20 percent sale on.Yes they could get me one up from down south for $315 special price,as I needed it for my CPAP machine gave them $50 dep for inverter do I get 20 per cent off No way mate that would be less than what I can buy it for.So on the way back to the caravan park call in at Motor Pro,

sure mate we can get one up from down south $190 be here in the morning.Told him story of Repco said they hear stories like that all the time about Repco Canarvon,so think about where you shop in Canarvon.Got my money back from Repco ,told them the story they just said ok.Never again for me.

Welcome to the gang Johnmac, enjoy here and out in the playground.

You probably know already but the inverter will chew up some juice real quick.

Keep Safe out there.

Thanks for the welcome Doug,I really didn't know that the inverter chewed up the juice. How does it compare with a converter, this is running a S9 CPAP machine

The Inverter converts 12v to 240v John and uses battery power very quickly. Way around it is to have good Solar Power and batteries.

I have 450w Solar on the roof and a 120w portable Solar as back up if need going into 2x110ah batteries and have been told that would all run a CPAP machine OK. I don't need one though YET.

If I did I think I would like 2x120ah batteries though to be on the safe side.

Not sure of power usage of the CPAP but I would think the 150w wouldn't be big enough. Probably wrong though.

You could always use a generator biggrinbiggrin  and now I'm ducking for cover mate biggrin

Pop a question into the 'Techie' section of the forum John.

FWIW. I just google this out of curiosity. I was a hospital eletronics tech back in the 80s.
