I am considering buying the Elecbrakes brake controller which attaches to the caravan and does not need to be wired through the tow vehicle. It is expensive but there are no installation costs so at the end of the day the overall cost seems to be about the same or actually cheaper than the wired units. ...

Hi. We are newbies with a 21ft van and a Toyota workmate ute 2.7 petrol. We know we will have to upgrade but wondering if we should do the electric brakes in it first to see if it will tow ok. What do you all think. Do it or upgrade.......Frankie & Steve

Hi, I'm half way through five weeks in Tassie. Currently in the south. The drive down the Midland Hwy was terrible with more road work at 40klh than normal road. A couple of people have suggested going back to Devonport on the Lakes Hwy. I'll be towing a 2500kg van. Has anyone used that road recently?
