I was visiting my daughter last night when I asked if she had a newspaper handy. "This is the 21st century Dad," she said. "We don't waste money on newspapers. Here, use my I Pad." I can tell you this: I Pads are bloody useless for swatting flies.

I can't believe how many times we have parked up, both in SA and WA and have been the only ones there! From recommended rest stops to free camps, 90% of the time we have been on our own. This wasn't the case at all in NSW or QLD where we had at least one other (usually two or three) campers/caravans/motorhome...

Over the last many months we have had trouble with our Electrolux fridge not staying cool enough in the hot weather. Alas as we were free camping at Fort O Hare in Dartmoor and having our happy hour which lasted for hours we realised that our climate class was SN which stood for Sub normal. We should have a...

Just a curious question here; How many of you sold up your house completely to go on the road? During our travels, we have met quite a few people who have done that (and new 4X4 and caravan to show for it!) but what happens when they get sick of travelling (or just sick)? We have kept our house (renting it out...

On a train from London to Manchester to watch the cricket, an Australian was berating the Englishman sitting across from him in the compartment. "You English are too stuffy. Hi all, I've already been asking questions before introducing ourselves! We are at home over summer (health problems restrict being in heat) so for the other three seasons we are out and about, we do love the coast but inland anywhere is a favourite, we love free or reasonable camping. To sit near a fir...

At long last I am in the position to buy a campervan. Have been saving all my dollars madly having to start from square one after my bank account was stolen. So I am interested in a Toyota Tarago Camper van which is regestered in NSW and want to know how I would go about changing the rego. to QLD if I buy the v...

Has the "Mailbaggers" section been neglected of late? Haven't seen a post for some time now. Has it gone to the nudist beach where Bohemian Gypsy has snuck off to. They have nothing to write on there. Perhaps the terrible trio have hijacked/hacked the mailbaggers 'pooter system. Kevin --...

I have discovered that I have a lot to learn about quilts and patchwork!!!! I cleared the kitchen of all furniture so that I could use the floor to work on, even washed the floor then taped the backing fabric, the wadding and the extremely large quilt top to the nice clean floor and got down on hands an...
