Fixing panels to a pop-top
(Preview)
Earlier in this section, there is a question about attaching panels to the top of a van. These were screwed via aluminium brackets. I was in at the local "Road Track Marine" store yesterday & they have stick-on HD plastic corners plus side pieces. They are designed to not block the wind, to overc...

2 x 100amp 12v batteries - questions
(Preview)
I have 2 x 100amp batteries in my van - wired + to + and - to - - ie to give 200amp 12v. Q1 - Should the onboard battery charger and the Solar Panel regulator be connected to the one battery or + on one and - on the other? Q2 - Would it be better to have a DC to DC charger between them rather than hard wired? Thanks Gle...

How many 'watts' will a 30amp controller cope with?
(Preview)
Gday... I have a 120Ahr battery fed by two 80watt PV panels through a 30amp controller. Given how I camp, this is quite adequate for my needs. On sunny days, even in Victoria's winter, the battery is back to float (13.4V) by late-morning/early arvo. Even on overcast days I am able to get at least three d...

Hi all. I have just put a 200w solar panel on my caravan roof. Question is will a caravan cover scratch or damage it in any way ? When the wind blows you often see covers lifting and moving. Just thinking of options and precautions..

Our son Cary finished fabricating the solar/LFP array on our 2002 Roadtrek 190. There are two panels: 315 W and 100 W. Since they have different voltages, he had to utilize two chargers. The cabling is run though the a/c housing and down the corner of the left rear door. The battery suite is two x 180 amp (...
