Does anyone have any free or budget sites they know of around Rainbow Beach? We are new to this travelling lark and loving every minute (almost!!!) of the last 7 weeks but is all a learning curve to us and we are open to suggestions of places to go and things to do. Thanks.

At the Harvey Range Tea House 30 Klm west of Townsville there is a small caravan park $ 5 per person unpowered and $10 a person powered show and toilet , Would be good for Solo at $5 unpowered a night

Boonah promotes itself as an RV friendly town. The main street and surrounds has all the handy stuff. Lots of cafes and friendly people. There are 2 overnight free spots. You can't go past this place for a great experience and it's dog friendly too. Sit around the camp-fire at happy hour, then head inside the open sided shed for a great black and white movie. The hosts, Kim and Glen will look after you for just $10pn, unpowered, well worth the cost.

Walkamin Central Van Park has to be the best place to stop on the Atherton Tablelands just 12 Klm south of Mareeba , Between Atherton and Mareeba at $22 a night , I did look at Rodeo ground at $17 a night , They get really packed in there .

Stayed at Tattersalls caravan park $ 30 a night which includes 2 pots of beer or wine when you have a meal at the hotel accross the road the park is right in town , free use of two washing machine , The North Gregoery hotel is $10 a night no power or water and bucket to be used for waste water and no geni to be used...

We stayed overnight at Benarkin, a free camp at the top of the Blackbutt range. Good facilities, including showers, which were, unfortunately undergoing maintenance when we were there. The camp is in the First Settlement Park and there is a very large flat area to park in. There are two entrances...

Stayed at this park last night cheap at $10 a night power hot shower petty about the lose dust , were to stay 2 night but settled on one night and now moved onto Stonehedge much better standing also $10
