just stayed a couple of nights at may,s bend ,outside of bourke in nsw. great spot beside the darling river ,take the mitchell hwy towards cunnamulla ,may,s bend is signposted . pop into the tourist info centre for a mudmap and they will give you all the info you will need .

This overnight stop is just off the New England Highway and has space for a handfull of travellers. It is half way between Singleton and Branxton at the junction of the Golden Highway. Toilets/picnic tables/fire places. GPS 32 38 33 60 s 151 13 56 94E

This beaut spot is only a short walk to town,situated next to Wollombi Brook. Sites are amongst shady trees and there is plenty of room to spread out, as the area is huge, but it would be a good idea to arrive early on week ends. Good camp spot is at Wog Wog camp ground NSW The camping area is about 25km north/ east of Braidwood. Access is via the Mongarlowe rd most of which is unsealed , but all rig use. NO charge/ pit toile. No Pets allowed as the camping area is part of a National Park.

Beaut spot to camp is beside the Paroo river at Wanaaring , the road knowen as The Cut Line.The camp is 190k north of Bourke and 230k east of Tibooburra .The dirt track to camping area leaves the main road a few metres east of the towns pub,.The area can be accessed by all vihicles. But only in dry weather...

We have just driven past this free camp rest area and it seems that true to their word the council is enlarging the rest area. So 'watch this space' and we will report when work is finished. It wouldn't be 'quiet' while the work is happening.
