Went to the Caravan Sale in Bris yesterday. We are looking at buying a 32-40 ltr Engel Fridge. 200 watt folding Solar panels. When free camping we would run the caravan fridge on gas. Maybe watch an occasional dvd and maybe a 12 volt fan if too hot. My question is Would we need to get another battery crank...

Fuel Tank Spits
(Preview)
I had a long-range fuel tank built and installed under the Sprinter. The inlet is a bit tricky and despite venting, the fuel spits out and stops the hand piece. It cost me $3 the other day to come to that conclusion. It was built and installed by Aussie By Design at Pt. Wakefield, and the problem has them p...

Fridges!
(Preview)
We're VERY new to being Grey Nomads (3 days and counting!), have never had a motorhome before and have already had problems with the fridge! It's a 12/240v Fisher and Paykel fridge freezer living in a Mitsubishi Canter motorhome (1992) and it works VERY occasionally. The freezer works long after the...

Fridges again
(Preview)
Hi everyone, this is our first time as members but have looked at a lot of comments recently. Our concern is that we are buying another van and are trying to decide what type of fridge to install; either 3 way or compressor. It used to be that the 3 way style hated being on a site that was not level and that t...

This is a bit trickey to describe, but here goes............in the last couple of years we have had 2 incidents where one of the power lead pins has become welded to the Clipsal Power socket pin and no amount of wriggling would prize them apart. So it was either cut the power cord off, once turned off or pl...

Portable solar panels, again.

Hi all, We picked up our Sunliner Twist last Saturday, and spent the last 2 days at Henry Angel Reserve near Tumbarumba. Great weather, but got me thinking about battery charging alternatives. The fixed solar panel on the roof seemed to work ok, but, being fixed, doesn't operate at it's peak for mos...

Can anyone tell me how long you are supposed to run a turbo engine before switching off please? Some have told me that if you have just been doing a short run (eg; local shopping trip) you don't have to worry too much about running the engine when stationary before turning it off, but if you have been doi...

I'm about to launch myself into the wild blue tomorrow for my first shakedown trip... a whole 17km down the road at Wingham Brush. Dunny leaving the wall!
(Preview)
As you can see, it's coming away with some good gaps all around! I prefer to think this was caused by a long rough road, as opposed to me sitting it. anyway, if anyone has advice on the best way to fix it, or rather the best sealant to use, I'd like to know. I have "Selleys no more gaps" on board, but...
