Fridge vent shade

Hi all, i know this topic has been thoroughly discussed before but am in need of a recap! When fitting a fridge vent shade is it best to cover top vent also? The shade material is breathable so will let the rising heat out if covering the top is the way to go. Thanks in advance. Kezngaz.
