Break-away switch wiring
(Preview)

I'm thinking heavier (4mm wire). My van does not have to have this system fitted but taking macca17's advice (from an earlier pos...

wonky tabletop on Nuovo Mapa Table Leg
(Preview)
Hi, I have installed a table top on a Nuovo Mapa Table Leg in the club lounge of our van, but the table top is wonky. There appears to be a lot of flexing coming either from the table leg or the foot - I screwed the table leg down. If my wife or I put a cup of tea on the table top then sit down without holding the cu...

EDS computer system
(Preview)
Hi I recently purchased an EDS computing system to use on a planned trip to the Kimberley. Sole purpose was to monitor real time fuel usage when towing, mainly to measure 80 km/h in 4th gear vs 90 km/h in 5th gear (Triton MN towing Jayco Journey). The 2 manuals are of poor linguistic standards and offer co...

Having a chat with your car computer - OBDII and Torque

To my surprise there doesn't seem to be a thread mentioning Torque - the vehicle monitoring software, so let's do one. Virtually all cars made or imported into Australia since the mid 1990s have the facility to connect to a computer programme and upload data regarding their past and present performa...

Gas versus Diesel Heaters
(Preview)
I'm ordering a new JB Gator van and think that an air heater would be a nice idea to fit. JB tell us that gas is quieter than diesel, but we plan to spend time free camping and think that saving gas for cooking and HWS might be preferable and the tug is diesel. What can you tell me to help decide between gas and d...
