Hi All. We need to replace our 10 year old 18ft Dometic vinyl awning. We have had no problems with this awning and have been doing a bit of research on whats available. It seems the choice is to either go again with a Dometic replacement, purchase an Aussie Traveller equivalent, or have one made up b...

Stuck in Tasmania
(Preview)
Tasmania has now been classed as 'Extreme Risk' by WA Gov, so not much chance of me getting back any time soon. Oh, well, there are certainly worse places to be stuck with my small rig, my dog and my kayak. However, I would welcome any suggestions on places to stay (with a dog and preferably near water for p...

Outlet shower plumbing pipe

The outlet plumbing pipe from the shower under the caravan has a bladder in a part of the pipe. This bladder seems to stick together quite often which prevents the shower from draining. The bladder is accessible by disconnecting part of the plumbing and freeing up the bladder by hand, which is inconve...

NRMA Changes

Recently renewed our membership. As part of general membership they are restricting towing of vans and trailers to less then 2000kg. Now costs extra per month to cover towing of any car and trailer combo over 3500kg. Not happy but like most insurance you don't like it until you need it. Glenn

Void your insurance - Just because your car has five or seven seats doesn't mean you can carry that many people.

Interesting article about how a car with a large number of seats ( 7 say - like some cars have ) could be overloaded just with number of people - like 7 adults. The overloading could void your insurance. Does not mention caravans at all - but I just found the article surprising... and something I had not re...

Isolation whilst on the road
(Preview)
I am curious if anyone on here has had to isolate whilst on the road. Where did you go/stay and how did you get on? I know some have the set ups to go bush for a while, but not all can do that or you're not in the right location. So tell us your hints, tips, ideas and practical solutions. Thanks.
