I can understand why, and did not want to risk it. Different story when we get our own campervan of course. I use google maps for navigation, but it gives...

Another one. What next?
(Preview)
Another one. What we see here is illegal, leaving the vehicle unsafe and potentially uninsured? There are 3 issues. Saw this today and it only reinforces my belief that towing courses and aporopriate licences should be mandatory for all caravanners. Cheers P.S The tyres on the van were hopelessly u...

12V air compressor
(

(Preview)
Hello Nomads How essential is a 12 volt air compressor for a grey nomad? I have a Land Cruiser which has a 12V plug in the back which presumably would take a 12V air compressor for putting air into my LC tyres as well as my caravan tyres. If deemed essential (or highly recommended), please recommend a bra...

Here is a video which unfortunately represents the total lack of knowledge of those who should not be making any comment at all with regard to caravan accidents. The myth of accelerating raises its head yet again. There is some real gems of misinformation in this video. The interview with the policem...

Custom built and tied-down bunch of plastic is latest way to protect your generator? Not to mention the weight, with 2 gas bottles and a jerry can on drawbar, chains not crossed, and the horror of an LC200 with no WDH. And his mate had a big van behind a Prado.Cheers

Chinese diesel heater - credit where credit's due

I think most would agree product quality of Chinese manufactured items can often be dreadful but my diesel heater has done well. In April 2020 I installed a 5kW Chinese diesel heater which I'd sourced from an Australian supplier on e-bay for $185 into my caravan. It has worked very well, kept me warm an...
