We started our Big Lap from Perth on 1st July and ran into a problem on 2nd July. After leaving Billabong Roadhouse after a good o/nighter we came to a detour about 30+ klm up the road. There was a detour which was in horrific condition. We crawled along at 20klm ph dodging around huge potholes and rocks....

I have been advised by the RMS inspectors that the use of a padlock to stop the handle of your caravan from lifting off the tow ball when towing is not acceptable. You must use a quick release device e.g. D-shackle, R-clip or similar.
