Planning our first lap and I am not impressed with what I read about Yulara. Want to go there of course and see the rock, but not at all convinced about staying there, even overnight. We're looking at mid-June which by all accounts is peak time. We're only pulling a camper trailer so have some flexibilit...

Nice to meet more GNs
(Preview)
After communicating with dunmowin for the past few weeks about travelling in Tasmania we were able to meet face to face. It was great to enjoy a nice 'Happy Hour' with Lorraine and John. One of the great things about this Forum is meeting new people who share the same love of travel that we do.

Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH) Demo
(Preview)
Gday... I became aware of this video from another forum. It gives a good idea of Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH) use - particularly for those who are new to vanning. It is interesting that the vehicle used in the video is an Isuzu MU-X - interesting to see how it copes with the 2,500Kg van with and withou...

Just wondered if anyone has done a comparison cost on buying a pop top compared to a full van? The depreciation on one compared to the other. And operational costs on one to the other? cheers

Is water from a washing machine "Grey water"?
(Preview)
Setting up the drain hoses on the van, the kit included a 25mm connector and a 38mm connector. Not taking too much notice of the maze of pipe work at that stage, I brought the 25mm OK, then went searching for the 38mm, and guess what the only supplier was Jayco. So $75 poorer I went to fit, but before I unwrap...

Gday gang We will be off shortly on our epic trip from Adelaide to Perth. I have seen on wikicamps a number of highly rated free camps etc on the way over the Nullabour, so accommodation is not the biggest worry, I guess my biggest worry is fuel and how much I will need. Bats Aren't That Bad.

In recent times we've camped in a few areas where there are a lot of fruit bats (flying foxes). While staying in these places we've spoken to many people that seem to have the wrong idea about these animals to the point of hysteria in some cases. We've done some research & come up with these FACTS. 1. B...
