Gday...

cry BUGGER - when ya number's up, I guess it's up cry

Interesting the journos can't get their 'facts' right - or at least consistent.

Was he a 55 year old man ... or a 68 year old man.

Cheers - John

Friends of mine only left that caravan park, day before. Was parked the other side of the tree that fell. So lucky for them.

We're at Burrum Heads & got the same storm. One lighting strike was so close lightning & thunder came at the same instant. It was so loud it gave me a fright.

Such a tragedy.

Recently there was a huge outcry in Hervey Bay because they "Culled" a few Gum trees because of Lorikeet's droppings on people's vans. What would  it have been like if they cut down trees for safety reasons, because they are Gum trees and Known to be dangerous.

Gum Trees and Caravan Parks do not mix.

A tragedy all round.

It seems to be that the man what passed away at Scarness caravan park was inside his caravan

""

The 68-year-old Narangba man was in his caravan when the tree fell, hitting him on the head.

The man suffered serious head injuries and had to be revived at the scene. He later died in hospital.""

Not taking anything away from the sadness of the accident and the unfortunate loss of the vanner's life, but having spent most of my working life in different areas of the media, these clangers in BG's links stood out like, well, you know what....

The Fraser Coast Chronicle contradicted itself by saying "The man was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital, but was declared deceased upon arrival.", but four sentences later it said "He later died in hospital."

While The Brisbane Times reported that "... lightning had set a nearby paddock of large hay bails ablaze, near the Isis Central Sugar Mill."

I just shakes me head

Cheers

Joe

The tree huggers would be out in force.  Get the chain saws out and buggar the greenies.

The counsel is working with I don't know how many people on the esplanade to clean up end cut down some trees on the moment ( This morning )
The caravan park where the accident happened is closed until further notice
