Updated to a Ford Ranger 3.2 - 6 speed
(Preview)
Well gang, I recently bit the bullet and sold my trusty old 2005 Nissan Patrol (4.2 td), I really didnt want to, BUT I did. I have since purchased a 2018 Ford Ranger Px Mk II with 67,000 kms on the clock and I must say immaculately looked after. Im told by someone who knew the owners that it has been nowhere a...

Transition from a fully equipped, off road caravan to a good quality motorhome - transition and comparison issues.
(Preview)
I am interested in the views of people who have actually transitioned from caravan owning to a Motorhome. Am thinking ahead as, as we all get older, have been thinking a Motorhome might be easier to manage than my current 24 foot van (cab only drawbar extra). Whilst the major pros and cons are fairly obv...

Hi all, the water filling stations I have seen over the last few days have a 25mm hose as the smallest filling point. So far the hoses dont have an end fitting at all , I gather to supply buik water to a tank. Has anyone used these with a suitable fitting to fill directly into van tanks? I cant seem to find a rem...

12V air compressor
(Preview)
Has anyone had any experience with the Ozito OTAC-1570 ? $65 at Bunnings. The other option is the XTM at Supercheap Auto $299, $149 for members. The XTM seems better quality, but as I don't think we will use the compressor much, I was thinking that for the price difference, the Ozito would do. Collo.

Has anybody had any contact with NM INSURANCE (Australian Caravan Insurance)
(Preview)
Just stumbled across these people looking for alternative to QBE with whom I have been with van and cars for years - but for no seeming reason van insurance went from $700-odd to $1800 for $60,000 with 5months lay-up. (!!!!!). They have a specialty division for Jayco vans - I first thought that it migh...

More on the Steibauer performance module
(Preview)
There was a bit of ignorance demonstrated in a previous posting re these modules, mainly relating to the method of operation - some did not understand the matter of injector DURATION verses increased pressures. No, it won't blow your injector pump up because pressures are not increased - to the pos...

Has anyone got a comment to make about RV Gard caravan paint protection. We bought our new van 3 years ago and were conned into paying $1,600 to have RV Gard applied to the interior and exterior by the retailer in Sydney we bought it from. 3 years on and the exterior white paint is oxidising and needs waxin...

Paying to see a natural world

Ok, I'm cheesed off and maybe I shouldnt be because we dont attend touristy places often. It all started years ago when a mate and I arrived at the 12 Apostles modern car park (we now live nearby in Camperdown) and eager to look we found we needed to pay an entry fee. We turned around. Funny enough there wa...

Travel from Kuranda to Cairns
(Preview)
Hi, I am intending to take my Pajero and 18 Ft van from Kuranda to Cairns. I have driven it once without a van and remember it as being very steep. Is it advisable to do this with a van or is there an alternative route that I should be considering. Thanks in advance.
