Yes! It is unfortunate that GN's has been allowed to drift into a general whinge site displaying ego;s. Then there are the few who seem to have magic mushrooms for breakfast.

I also would like to return to a practical site discussing caravans, motorhomes and travel - doubt that any new readers find this current drift worthwhile enough to continue with it.

I think that this applies to most sections of the forum these days. Much of the discussion seems to be about social issues & not caravanning.

Mind you, I get drawn in from time to time and add to the general discussion .. especially when the right wingers get going.

If the weirdness referred to are the posts from Extraordinary Rendition I can understand why some folk may not connect with what he writes, but I for one think his posts are far more real & about life on the road than many.

Have a look at the profile. Gender F and female first name.

I assume your link referred to these words ..." As A bloke I would do it too." Perhaps that could have meant "If I were a bloke I would do it too."

But then " far better two blokes who had already made plans together". So maybe it is a little strange.

Folks just relax... I am a 60 something bloke that has has a background in ..well really does it matter ? (OK Geophysics) sure I like hearing the stories on the road. But if you find my observations so unsettling ? I am a bloke that will never drive past you if you are in trouble as I made plain in my stories.

But if you chose not to then just dont relax.

Well work it out for yourselves ...If you think I am a Troll then ask yourselves .. Why would I ? .. if you live on the Road then you have to decide the level of Risk you are encountering. But there also exists that Risk that you are too gutless and insular to enjoy the company and great fellowship of people that come across initially as incomprehensible.

You might miss hearing some great stories.

I grew up with stories from the 30s about "swaggies" and why they are who they are. It is part of being Australian . If that is too much for you then I respect that.

We are the 2000 version of "swaggies' ... It is our heritage.

And the strange people i met on the road turned out to be an inspiration ..

Should you guys chose to eschew such contact I dont blame you ..We can be a little bit unsettling

Some of the places I have stayed were risky risky biscuits... but on first blush they looked just fine. After 8 years on the Road I know how to pick it.
