I have been looking at the topics for a while and decided to join up.
I have read the Nomad Times shown to me by a mate so I am looking forward to receiving that myself when it is available.
My adventures on the road started approx 5 years ago when I retired. After 5 weeks on the road my wife of 37 years realised that she missed a work colleague more than me and our life together and decided the caravan life was not for her. This was the biggest disruption of my life but now I think back on it I cant believe how stupid I was not to have noticed anything going on. Well after a lot of sorting out we sold the home and negotiated a fair and equitable settlement. I guess I was lucky. We did it without the solicitors getting their grubby fingers on our assets as we did it amicably.
The caravan life was a maximum learning curve as I had little idea of what to do. I came from an accounting background with my years before retirement in purchasing, I had good advice from friends and I managed to keep the van and the car in the settlement.
I was a year on the road on my own when completely by surprise I met a wonderful lady and we just hit it off. We went quietly at first testing things out but now we are travelling together full time.
We are really just the sealed road travellers although my van has some solar and a generator and we can do extended stays away from the hum drum of parks. We love the coastal areas and we are both fans of land based fishing. If we get to a spot that we like we tend to stay.
Anyway thank you to the admin for the membership and we are looking forward to participating.
Welcome to GN's Richard,
Our main stomping ground/s are normally re-dust covered outback (now mainly green), I personally don't like coastal areas and the crowded bustle of the people enticed to surf and sun.
I'm sure you will have a great time exploring this great land with your new lady, just have a good time and take each day as it comes, it's a luxury denied to many.
