Note also that any application of your brakes converts latent energy (momentum) into heat and is a complete waste of fuel.

Won a fuel economy run in 70s with 289 v8 in Escort . Didnt brake hardly at all . Due to other cars being highly modified 4 cyl
As we where a rally car club . Did a lot of rallycross . Was surprised the fuel economy!! Big engine light car and cruising !

I run out of fuel this morning . So I rung the breakdown NRMA insurance . They wrote my vehicle off !!
