Hi all. I have just joined the Grey Nomads family.  We have recently acquired a new Viscount V2 caravan.  It is our first experience with this sort of holidaying and of course, of van ownership.  We reside in Canberra, have recently registered the van and if the rain ever stops, we will embark on our first trip.  No doubt we will be meeting many of you along the way.

Have fun! We have been on the road for almost six months and are having a great time. Learning so much too. We were pretty green when we left home in WA but feel pretty experienced now. Things that really stressed us out at first no longer worry us. I have been blogging about our trip on Flannerysfootprints.wordpress.com. Enjoy! Take your time.

Hi Folks,
Just signed on to your Forum and looking forward to learning from your experiences travelling for extended periods.

I have had a '76 kombi, factory fitted out - Sopru Campmobile - for over 10 years now and get on the road at any opportunity.

I have recently retired and looking forward to more extended road trips in the future.

I'm also a moderator on the Kombi Club Australia Forum and, no doubt, some of you are KC members and vice versa.

Looking  forward to interacting with you !

What a great machine.

Drove one from Alice to Adelaide in the wet in 1974 with 4 adults and 2 kids on board.

Hi Crusn/Mark - Welcome to GN's - I'm sure you will enjoy it out there in your Kombi, I used to drive one a lot in the mid sixties (The utility) it was certainly an economical drive although preferring the bitumen to black dirt roads. It was great in winter though as you could open the shuttle down on the front floor for heater, It must have been the first car in Australia that had such luxury.

My grandfather traveled around Australia six times in a Kombie. That was back in the 60's.
