That was a good find, Bob

Just goes to show that nothing has changed, in the last 70 years or so

Advertising is there to sell stuff, and if they become economical with the truth, then who was to know

 Which ones aren't Dorian?

You normally do a fact checker and tell us all it's bull****e.

Cheers Bob

Well, let's start with the Lux ad. It appears to date back to the 50s or 60s. It makes reference to a woman's vagina, and it does so by way of a slang term. Then it tells the reader that it smells like a dead fish. Something does smell fishy, and I don't mean the woman's mimsy.

Here's the original ad:

https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/280067670555758502/

Then there's the ad where the kid is eating a slab of butter. Notice that the slab is precariously balanced on the tip of a single tine of his fork, a sure sign of bad Photoshopping. Here is the original ad:

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/boy-eating-butter-ad/

The Nico Time ad with the expectant mother is also fake:

https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-cdc-historical-advertisemen-idUSKBN20T1RO

Here is the real story from the creator of the image:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bioshock/comments/1qiqhg/good_ol_rapture_advertising/

The real story behind the "start cola earlier" ad:

https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/38599/did-the-soda-pop-board-recommend-drinking-cola-earlier

"About seven or eight years ago, I [RJ White] made this fake ad, exhorting parents to give soda to their babies. It was done on a bored afternoon when J.D. Ryznar asked for someone to make that very specific thing on his livejournal. I whipped it together, posted it to the web, joke over."

Some of the ads are amusing and reflect days gone by.

The Lux send up is in extremely poor taste, most thinking people would find it offensive.no

Did you also hate the person who told you that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny weren't real?

I would have thought that someone who had lived on this earth for 60 or more years would have learnt to spot BS when he's looking straight at it.

Did i say I hate you Dorian? Surely you jest.

Next you are going to say the Tooth Fairy isn't real.

Have a good day......Bob
